Working with my cinematographer mum and an editor friend during christmas I recorded a video of myself drawing in colour, reproducing(with the help of my stepdad posing) a rainbow coloured nude sthletic poses layered on top of one another. Someone said 1,5 years ago when I first created that drawing that it should be used for LGBTQ+ olympics logo. As I believe in coincidences less these days I took Daniella’s offer to participate as a sign and hence the video is now in it’s final stages. I have no control over the music choice so the video ended up being very dynamic to fit the music.
Mistakes: when someone offers to help me with your work for free, for me personally difficult to control them and voilce the concerns or things I would like changed easily. As I feel they’re already doing me a favor. I feel that maybe I gave the editor too much creative control and ended up with my own work being less visible than I would like it to be. The final effect is actually a really dynamic film, interesting to watch. But I find it hard to say it is mine, as my work seems to be only one of the elements. On the other hand I wonder if that’s a bad thing. Maybe it’s just collaboration?
How would I do this differently in the future: the best way to control the situation would be to control it myself but that would mean to actually sit down and figure out the animation techniques myself.
