After giving up for a few weeks, I’m back to experimgnting with the PLA filament drawing, as I find the fact that I can’t fully control it quite fascinating. It is also a great way to experiment, pretending it’s thread when it’s really not, and layering it temporarily on my paintings without the fear of it staying on there forever and having to remake the whole thing from scratch. Trying out tracing over a previous pencil sketch but with a plastic on top of it, some bits not attaching properly, having to trim them afterwards but overall visual effect quite interesting, I like the schizophrenic wiggliness of the lines

Then some more experiments trying to layer the dry piece on the painting but realising orange is definitely not visible enough

In order to make the lines black and also to keep some bits that got disconnected I was trying to stitch and wrap the whole thing in black thread but that came out very thics and I started loosing details, such as the kids toes so dropped that idea and decided to paint the whole thing black

I have just finished drying it and trying to decide how I feel about the final result
