What I Learned from lamp 3 mistakes and how I changed the process: with lamp 4 I went back to the make the entire paper wet idea and that somehow still Works better than starting dry and spraying. But I did spray some dry bits occasionally and that actually seemed to give me more control over the situation. The pins still ripping the paper, but the spraying and scrunching helped to control the shape and the folds better. So overall I’m happier with this result and for the next lamp planning to continue the same way.
Also wondering if I should ditch the wooden circle holding the ribbons together as it is very time consuming and I’m not sure if it’s neccessary. But somehow visually I feel it is adding something.
