PERFORMER AND PARTICIPANT AT TATE MODERN

Continuing on my mission to feel inspired and keep an open mind and to also explore things that I never thought would inspire me or thoughts I might have in common with “great” artists.

Accidentally, guided by google, ended up on the wrong floor and looking at some works at the PERFORMER AND PARTICIPANT exhibition. A wonderful piece by PETRIT HALILAJ, which inspired me to extend the ribbons from my lamps onto the floor, either by making them longer or by putting something covered in poured rainbow paint underneath. A fridge door? A canvas? I love the idea of people interacting with the piece, maybe being able to maybe control the colours of the lights with remote controls? I also love the story behind Halilaj’s piece, how he worked on it with his mother and how he uses the pieces to dress into and become a moth. And he mimics the moth’s behaviour so realistically and beautifully. I like how he uses the disguise to avoid talking about things that are too difficult to talk about. I always fancied the idea of being a fly on the tube just so I could stare at everyone and analise details of their features and clothing without them knowing. IDEA: MAKE RIBBONS SO LONG TO DRAG ON THE FLOOR
