Really enjoying continuous experimentation in the studio during the last two weeks. I am excited to try another fridge door sculpture 3d painting with acrylics, working on two simultaneously, giving one of them a “concrete” base with a textural spraypaint and will be trying airbrush acrylic techniques on that. I am also continuing painting with oils on top of my pencil sketches on canvas boards, using lineseed oil to keep the paint quite trensparent and have a possibility to layer, blend and wipe out with paper towels. After initially using fixative to fix the pencil from rubbing and high gloss transparent acrylic medium to fix it further so I could wipe out the oil, i can happily conclude that I am able to go over and wipe out as much as I want and the pencil lines stay as solid as I wanted them to be. I initially felt really scared and hesitant when starting this process and wanted to use black sharpie instead of pencils. But I forgot to bring the sharpie to life drawing, ended up having to use pencils and having to rub out multiple times and go on top and to my surprise the effect of that was so much more interesting then the sharpie! I am quite exctied about this process and am planning to explore it further, I will now try moving from A3(again, fear) to A2 and see how changing the size will feel. I woul like to try and be more brave with the colours as well but for now the reds/purples/yellows and oranges seem to speak to me, I just don’t know what they’re trying to say yet…
