INSPIRED BY MY DAUGHTER

As I’m putting my daughter to bed, lying next to her, with the “one, last hug” waiting patiently for her song, that she just invented “The Dark, The Deep, The Wonderful”, mesmerised by the neverending well of the imagination of an 8 year old, dreaming that she will always think like this and will never have the boring everyday worries meddling with her creativity. I am trying to let that energy inspire me, thinking about another idea, imagining what else I can do with the PLA filaments, the unruly strange new medium I have been excited about. Thinking how I could combine her wonderful ideas with mine, the sketch she created of an installation and performance we could both use “for your exhibition mummy”

She was inspired by my lace lamp pregnant torso and wanted to make sure there’s a baby/a doll/a creepy puppet coming out of it, with  the ropec coming out underneath the belly, whih you can pull and then the creepy doll puppet at the top pops out and moves her arms. Maybe the song The Dark, the Deep, The Wonderful could play while all that is happening…I want to always have that kind of connection with her, maybe similar to the one I had with my grandmother, but need to realise these things are fleeting and I can’t force them to be like this forever. She will eventually be more into her own things and her own friends, her own life…so how can we make the most out of Now?

Here are some exciting and truly bonkers fun results of my daughter inspiring me

Key Details About PLA:

Use Cases: It is most commonly known as a filament for 3D printing (FDM/FFF) due to its ease of use and low odor, but it is also widely used for food packaging, disposable cups, and medical implants.

Eco-Friendly: Unlike traditional petroleum-based plastics, PLA is considered a “bioplastic” because it is plant-based.

Biodegradability: It is biodegradable under industrial composting conditions
