An absolutely fascinating exhibition, telling the story of how we “move, sense, think, express, inquire and identify with our bodies” I love the vast combination of light installations, robotics, AI app collabs, video collaborations, the general feeling that absolutely anything could be a part of this exhibition, that there are no boundaries. I was mesmerised especially by one of the first pieces, which was a giant black cube in a very dark room, lit with very low strength orange vertical lights in the corners of the room, with very minimal experimental music, it was like a very soothing asmr experience. I noticed how the electricity cables were almost used as part of the installation and were all coming from a central place in the ceiling, and from that space spreading to the lights on the walls and to the speaker in the middle. I liked that it was still very aesthetic but served it’s function. Entitled Deepstaria Void “this aural work redefines our relationship with space through sound by means of an audio installation” which is “the sonic dreamscape of an animativescore by sound collective Invisible Mountain is constantly recomposed and reperformed by Bronze AI”

Another piece that truly resonated was the last one, a giant 5m x 10m robotic construction, with rectangukar planes moving up and down as well rotating and folding, with projections of nature such as fields or water as well as extreme close-ups of a male dancers body projected onto it, very monumental. I also noticed how cables were distributed on a giant scaffolding and wondered: how much did building of something like this cost? It was called A Body for AI, a kinetic sculpture designed by Ben Cullen WIlliams in collaboration with Wayne McGregor, a fusion of creative action generated by artificial and human intelligence.

Some additional images of incredible dance scenes from the videos Mc Gregor collaborated on. There is something very powerful in the idea of using dance as a resistance tool and a lot of his video collabs express that “fighiting against” energy.
