@csm_projectspaces presents Maintenance Work, a group exhibition bringing together 18 artists and 15 works curated by Berenice Berlan @bereniceberlan and Sowon Kim sowon.idx
Across installation, performance, video, and sculpture, the exhibition attends to practices that remain unrefined, sustained through care, and held in motion.
Unresolved and ongoing, the works unfold through the space, meeting the viewer and drawing us into relations that continue to take form.

An exhibition I Applied for last minute, not expecting to be in the show, but somehow was selected and had to make sure I will provide and Install the work in one morning between coming back from Poland and getting on the train to Paris. Luckily the team was super professional, I knew what I was doing, we managed to Install easily in 2h.
Issues: paint is chipping off the fridge door, I have to find a way to protect it from the outside, need to conduct some tests with epoxy and hardener.
I forgot one lightbulb, had to go back and bring it, the whole process added 3h to something that could have lasted 2h
How will I do things differently: plan better ahead of time, always make sure to have 1 day for Install and one extra morning in case things are forgotten or go wrong.
The positive result was showing the polish handmade lace element for the first time, it really resonated with people, especially the story of the lacemakers and my plan to go to the mountains and interview them to find out how the lacemaking prevails in the village of Koniakow.
